چکیده
For automobiles using a hybrid propulsion system, flywheel energy storage devices are a promising and creative technology for either recovering brake energy or load regulating the internal combustion engine. The flywheel bearings are the technology's huge challenge, as rolling element bearings is unable to meet the life duration requirements. Unbalance and gyroscopic forces drastically reduce their lifespan. Active vibration control solutions can be used to offset bearing stresses and, as a result, enhance bearing life.
In this research the simulation of active control is implemented by combination of Abaqus Explicit/Implicit. The contact forces in the bearing surface were extracted by Explicit solv-er. In next stage, the results were transferred to Implicit solver to observe the piezo sensors-actuators effects on active vibration control of bearing. The boundary conditions and 3D-Model are derived based on previous experimental research.
The results indicate that by applying piezo-stack actuators controlled by piezo-sensors, un-balance affections on bearing might well be minimized by approximately 85%.
